John Calipari continues to recruit better than any coach in the country with his latest win on the recruiting trail coming from California native Drew Askew.

The nation’s top point guard prospect in the 2021 recruiting class, Askew declared his commitment to the Kentucky basketball program on Thursday evening. Askew plays for Mater Dei High School.

The five-star prospect picked Kentucky over Arizona and Louisville — which likely just made him that much more popular in Lexington.

Askew is the first 2021 prospect to commit to Kentucky. The Wildcats signed the nation’s No. 2 recruiting class in the 2020 recruiting cycle.
