Our Week 3 CFB Picks
Here’s who we like for this intriguing slate of CFB matchups:
Andrew Olson
Germie Bernard, Alabama WR: Higher than 64.5 receiving yards
Last time Bernard went below 65 yards was 60 in the Oklahoma game. In the 4 games since then, he’s gone for 111, 80, 146 and 67. Some might expect Bernard’s production to go down with the return of Ryan Williams, but Week 1 showed that Ty Simpson has established chemistry with the seasoned veteran.
Eugene Wilson, Florida WR: Higher than 4.5 receptions
I’m drawn to this, expecting a few quick passes to go Wilson’s way. With questions about Florida’s pass protection, I expect a few plays where DJ Lagway gets the ball out quickly before the Tigers get to him. Wilson is the ideal target in those situations.
Diego Pavia, Vanderbilt QB: Higher than 196.5 pass yards
Pavia is off to quite the start in his extra year of eligibility. In his first 2 games of 2025, Pavia is averaging 10.9 yards per attempt after averaging 7.7 last season. Last year, Vanderbilt had Pavia throw 31 times against the Gamecocks. I’m not expecting 31 passes at 10.9 per attempt, but 200 passing yards feels reachable.
Adam Spencer
Beau Pribula, Mizzou QB: Higher than 0.5 rush+receiving TDs
I don’t expect the Mizzou QB to use his legs a ton in this game, letting RBs Ahmad Hardy and Jamal Roberts handle most of that work. But his ability to run is a major advantage around the goal line. I think he’ll scamper his way to pay dirt at least once against Louisiana.
Gunner Stockton, Georgia QB: Lower than 227.5 pass yards
Tennessee is without its top-2 corners in this matchup, but I just don’t think Stockton has shown the ability to take advantage of that fact yet in his young career. This is his first true road start, too, so we’ll see how he handles Rocky Top. I think Stockton finishes with around 200 yards through the air, coming up comfortably short of this number.
Aaron Anderson, LSU WR: Higher than 72.5 receiving yards
Anderson went for 99 yards against Clemson and 73 yards in LSU’s struggle win against Louisiana Tech last week. I expect the Tigers’ offense to be firing on all cylinders this weekend in a rivalry game against Florida. Anderson has been the LSU WR1 this year and I think that continues with 73+ yards against the Gators.
Our Week 2 NFL Picks
Here’s who we’re backing in the NFL this Sunday:
Andrew Olson
Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs QB: Lower than 240.5 pass yards
I feel a bit uncomfortable doubting Mahomes, but this is more about the receiving corps while Xavier Worthy deals with his shoulder injury. The Chiefs are about to face an Eagles defense that limited Dallas to 188 passing yards at 5.5 yards per attempt. I think Philadelphia gets the better of a makeshift receiving corps.
DK Metcalf, Pittsburgh Steelers WR: Higher than 64.5 receiving yards
Former team matchups are fun to play since everyone knows the player in question will give something a little extra (even if they won’t admit it). Metcalf got off to a good start with Pittsburgh, logging 83 yards. Even if Seattle keeps that from happening again, there’s plenty of room for Metcalf to still clear 65.
Adam Spencer
Ja’Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals WR: Higher than 86.5 receiving yards
I’m making both of my picks from the same game, going with a pair of former LSU receivers to shine in the Jacksonville-Cincinnati matchup. Ja’Marr Chase got off to a slow start in Week 1 at Cleveland. In the Bengals’ home opener, I like him to go for more than 100 yards.
Brian Thomas Jr., Jacksonville Jaguars WR: Higher than 67.5 receiving yards
Similarly, Thomas wasn’t much of a factor in the Jaguars’ Week 1 win over the Panthers, as Jaycee Horn shut him down. The Bengals don’t have any corners on Horn’s level, so I’ll take BTJ to post 68+ receiving yards.
