By Adam Spencer
Published:
We’ve officially reached October, and that means the football action — at both the college and NFL levels — is heating up. Sure, we now have to deal with those pesky bye weeks, but there are plenty of great games on Saturday and Sunday to keep us entertained.
Our DFS experts — Andrew Olson and Adam Spencer — are back this week with their 3 favorite college football picks and their top 2 NFL plays of the week after they combed through the Underdog app.
Keep reading below to see who they like this weekend. But first…

Our Week 6 CFB Picks
Here’s who we like for Saturday’s college football slate:
Andrew Olson
Diego Pavia, Vanderbilt QB: Higher than 60.5 rush yards
Just because Georgia didn’t run Gunner Stockton all that much last week doesn’t mean the Alabama defense has solved its running QB issue. Pavia is Vandy’s leading rusher and has been good for around 10 rushes per game so far this season.
Robby Ashford, Wake Forest QB: Higher than 205.5 pass yards
Even while only completing 46.4% of his passes, Ashford proved me wrong last week by throwing for 219 yards against Georgia Tech. Now he faces a Virginia Tech pass defense that has allowed a 68.9% completion percentage at 9 yards per attempt.
Tommy Castellanos, Florida State QB: Higher than 147.5 pass yards
Miami has a stingy run defense. Opponents are rushing for only 76.25 yards per game at 2.61 yards per carry on the Hurricanes. FSU will need to get the passing game going to hang with UM. Castellanos was good for 7.9 yards per attempt against Virginia. Saturday figures to be a high-attempt game.
Adam Spencer
Zachariah Branch, Georgia WR: Higher than 41.5 receiving yards
Kentucky is giving up nearly 250 yards per game through the air. If Gunner Stockton and the Georgia Bulldogs are going to take advantage of that Kentucky weakness, Zach Branch will need to be involved. I think he’ll be good for 42+ receiving yards.
Cade Klubnik, Clemson QB: Higher 257.5 pass yards
Clemson vs. North Carolina in a battle of dumpster-fire ACC programs? Sign me up! North Carolina hasn’t seen a QB like Klubnik since Week 1 against Josh Hoover and TCU. Hoover threw for 284 yards. I think Klubnik can manage 258+.
Germie Bernard, Alabama WR: Higher than 61.5 receiving yards
It’s clear Ty Simpson trusts Germie Bernard a lot. I also trust the Alabama offense to put up yards and points against a Vanderbilt defense that just allowed 35 points against Utah State. Look for a big afternoon from Bernard.
Our Week 5 NFL Picks
Here’s who we’re backing in Week 5 NFL action on Sunday:
Andrew Olson
James Cook, Buffalo Bills RB: Lower than 80.5 rush yards
Cook has rushed for over 100 yards in each of his last 3 games. I’m normally all for riding a hot streak, but I think it ends here. Running backs are getting just 3.18 yards per carry against the Patriots, with no individual back recording 50 yards yet. Cook will likely be the first to crack 50, but that’s a long way to 81.
CJ Stroud, Houston Texans QB: Higher than 212.5 pass yards
As many NFL fans are aware, Stroud got off to a bit of a rough start this season. He threw for 233 yards last week against Tennessee, a sign that he might be turning things around. The Ravens have been one of the more generous defenses, averaging 271 yards per game to opposing quarterbacks this season.
Adam Spencer
Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys QB: Higher than 240.5 pass yards
CeeDee Lamb or no CeeDee Lamb, no one (other than Philadelphia) has been able to stop Dak Prescott from putting up numbers through the air. Sure, Sauce Gardner will make life tough for George Pickens, but the Cowboys have plenty of other weapons.
Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB: Higher than 231.5 pass yards
Baker Mayfield has improved his passing yards total every week so far this season. He’s become one of the more reliable passers in the entire league. Plus, Emeka Egbuka will have some motivation going against fellow former Buckeye Jaxon Smith-Njigba. I expect plenty of passing yards to go around on Sunday in Seattle.
