Diego Pavia and Vanderbilt continued its dream 2025 season on Saturday as they defeated the Kentucky Wildcats 45-17.

With the win, the Commodores move to 9-2 on the season, and they have a legitimate chance at making it to the College Football Playoff. Arguably the biggest reason why Vanderbilt is a CFP contender is because of the play off its quarterback.

Pavia has been good all season long, but he was at his best on Saturday. He went 32-of-38 throwing the ball, finishing with a school record 484 passing yards, while also throwing four touchdowns.

That performance may have been enough to get Pavia back into the Heisman Trophy conversation. Over on Kalshi, a predictions market that’s legal in all 50 states, Pavia’s Heisman odds have risen to top-4 status as of Saturday evening.

Pavia is now trailing only Fernando Mendoza, Julian Sayin and Jeremiyah Love in Kalshi’s Heisman Trophy market. Here’s a look at where things currently stand:

There’s plenty of support for Pavia to win the Heisman Trophy, too:

On the season, he has thrown for 2,924 yards, 25 touchdowns and six interceptions.

Before he got to Vanderbilt, the Commodores were consistently finishing at the bottom of the SEC. Last season, the Commodores won their first bowl game since 2013. The Commodores enter next week’s game against Tennessee in a really good spot to potentially clinch a spot in the CFP.
