Dillon Gabriel continues to be recognized for his standout performance leading Oklahoma to a thrilling Red River Rivalry victory over Texas.

After picking up Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week, Gabriel is now being nationally recognized. The Davey O’Brien Award, Maxwell Award and Walter Camp Award have all named Gabriel as a Player of the Week for Week 6.

Oklahoma trailed then-No. 3 Texas 30-27 with 77 seconds to go and no timeouts. Gabriel led the Sooners on a 75-yard drive capped by a touchdown pass to Nic Anderson to give OU a 33-30 lead with 15 seconds left on the clock. The extra point made it 34-30, the game’s final score.

Gabriel finished 23-of-38 passing for 285 yards and a TD. As a runner, he rushed 14 times for a career-high 113 yards and a score. Gabriel now has Oklahoma’s longest run of the season with a 44-yard gain in the 4th quarter.

Gabriel is the first Oklahoma QB to ever throw for 250 yards and rush for 100 against Texas. He committed no turnovers in the clash at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.

Gabriel and the No. 5 Sooners are off in Week 7. They return to action in Week 8 to face UCF, Gabriel’s former team. The Knights are in their first season of Big 12 football.
