Dontaie Allen, transferring Kentucky guard, announces commitment to in-state program

Dontaie Allen was a key player off the bench for the Kentucky Wildcats during the 2020-21 season, averaging 14 minutes per game.
But, in 2021-22, he saw his playing time diminish. This past season, he appeared in only 19 games, averaging only 6.4 minutes per contest.
This offseason, he entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal. And, on Wednesday, he announced he wouldn’t be leaving the Bluegrass State, committing to Western Kentucky via Twitter:

This past season, Allen averaged 2.2 points and 1.2 rebounds per game for the Wildcats.
As he embarks on this new chapter of his college career, we’ll see what kind of role he’s able to carve out for himself with the Hilltoppers.
