LSU will be without one of its defensive linemen as it travels to Lexington to take on Kentucky on Saturday.

Ed Orgeron announced on Thursday during his weekly media availability that the team would be without defensive tackle Joseph Evans. Evans has recorded 8 tackles thus far in 2021, with 2.0 for a loss.

The Haynesville, La. native played in 7 games in 2020 during his redshirt freshman season, including 5 starts. He was good for 13 tackles and 0.5 sacks. As a true freshman in 2019, he appeared in 4 games and notched 7 tackles.

It’s another blow to a team that’s without several defenders as it is. Star defensive back Derek Stingley Jr. underwent a procedure on Wednesday to repair an injured foot and will be out indefinitely, and that’s just the most noticeable absence.

The Tigers are 3-2 heading into their matchup with the 5-0 and 16th-ranked Wildcats. Kickoff from Kroger Field is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on the SEC Network.
