Ed Orgeron is firmly in the running to become LSU’s full-time coach, his self-described dream job, after a series of stops at other schools.
His five-year stint at Miami is arguably what launched his career, but he took some time Wednesday to reflect on the job that got him there in the first place.
Orgeron spent 1986-’87 as an assistant strength coach at Arkansas, the next opponent in his open audition for the permanent job as the Tigers’ head man. He briefly discussed his tenure in Fayetteville, where his team will face the Razorbacks at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday, during his portion of the SEC coaches teleconference.
"Being an ex-Razorback myself, I know how tough it is to play in Fayetteville," Orgeron said. He was Ark. asst. strength coach in 1986-87.
