When Ed Orgeron isn’t spending time working on his favorite hobby (recruiting), LSU’s coach has been spending the majority of his free time working on his new hobby — boxing.

No need for LSU fans to worry if Orgeron is spending too much time in the ring, either, as LSU won another big recruiting battle on Friday if you missed it.

Considering this college football offseason has been unlike any other before it, when Orgeron’s not occupied with recruiting he’s had to find something to do with his time. As chronicled by Ross Dellenger of Sports Illustrated, LSU’s coach has been spending as much time in the ring as possible this spring and summer.

“He’s an incredibly strong and explosive man,” Orgeron’s trainer L.J. Morvant told SI. “He loves boxing. It was love at first punch.”

According to Orgeron’s trainer, the coach spends six hours a week training to become better at the sport.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Orgeron has gained attention with his fists. LSU’s coach notoriously uses his fists to fire up his team, from time to time.

Orgeron even did so leading up to LSU’s latest national championship win over Clemson in the College Football Playoff.
