LSU’s 2021 recruiting class continues to build toward something special as Ed Orgeron’s program just managed to land a commitment from one of the top overall prospects not only from Louisiana, but in the nation, for the 2021 recruiting cycle.

The latest win on the recruiting trail for LSU comes from Zachary High School standout Chris Hilton, who announced his commitment to the program on Friday.

The Tigers currently have the nation’s No. 7 ranked recruiting class following this news. Perhaps the most important aspect of that ranking? All the teams ranked above LSU in the recruiting rankings have more total commitments than the Tigers — meaning Orgeron’s program currently has the most room to improve among teams ranked in the top 10.

The 5-foot-11, 169-pound Zachary, La., native is ranked as a top 100 overall prospect, the No. 8 receiver in the country and the No. 4 recruit from Louisiana in the 2021 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Composite Rankings. Hilton picked LSU over scholarship offers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Texas A&M and Notre Dame, among others.

One of the fastest prospects from the state of Louisiana, Hilton also runs track for Zachary High School. Hilton even won the 2019 Louisiana indoor state championship.

Take a look at his impressive junior season highlight reel and you’ll see the speed translates on the field for LSU’s new commit.
