Eddie Royal believes schematics are everything when it comes to beating Alabama, and that’s exactly what Texas must do to knock off the Crimson Tide on Saturday in Austin.
Royal, who played wide receiver at Virginia Tech, was a guest on “College Football Live” on ESPN, and outlined how Texas will look to attack the Alabama defense.
“If you want to beat Alabama, you’ve got to have a great scheme and plays,” Royal said. “So everybody knows Texas is going to want to run the ball, right. You’ve got one of the best running backs in the country, so Alabama’s built to stop the run. Then Xavier Worthy over the top, he’s the deep threat. The guy you’ve got to pay attention to is that big tight end, (Ja’Tavion) Sanders. He’s going to be Quinn Ewers’ favorite target, and he needs to get him involved over the middle of the field so that Xavier Worthy can open up later on in the game.”
A former newspaper veteran, Keith Farner is a news manager for Saturday Down South.
