When Pro Football Focus released its list of midseason All-Americans on Wednesday, several SEC players were named.
Six defenders and two offensive players, representing seven schools, were honored for their strong starts to the season.
Pro Football Focus graded SEC defenders highly, which isn’t surprising given some of the stars the conference boasts on that side of the ball.
The complete list of players can be found here, which includes these eight SEC standouts:
- Evan Engram, TE, Ole Miss
- Frank Ragnow, C, Arkansas
- Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M
- Derek Barnett, DE, Tennessee
- Jonathan Allen, DT, Alabama
- Reuben Foster, LB, Alabama
- Aarion Penton, CB, Mizzou
- Jamal Adams, S, LSU
How many of these players end up actually receiving All-American honors at the end of the season remains to be seen, but it’s safe to say several SEC players will be honored when all is said and done.
