ESPN has updated its bowl projections for all of FBS after a Week 7 that saw multiple top 10 teams lose.
One of those top 10 teams that didn’t lose was LSU, as the Tigers knocked off South Carolina at home by a score of 20-10. It wasn’t the most dominant performance and the offense once again had its struggles. However, as Week 7 showed, the all important thing is getting that victory.
Mark Schlabach and Kyle Bonagura both have the Tigers in the current CFP bracket as an 11-seed. Schlabach has the Tigers taking on Ole Miss in a rematch from a game earlier in the year the Rebels won, while Bonagura has them taking on Texas Tech.
The Tigers had a bye last week, and the thought was that could potentially help the Tigers get their offense rolling. Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier threw for 254 yards and two touchdowns, but also threw two interceptions.
Up next for LSU is a road game at a Vanderbilt team that is looking to bounce back from its first loss of the season two weeks ago to Alabama. The winner of this game will be in a good spot in terms of controlling its own destiny to potentially make it to the CFP, while the loser will see its chances take a significant hit.
