ESPN FPI rankings after Week 13: Alabama leapfrogs Georgia after beating Eastern Illinois

Cupcake Week was apparently a pretty impactful one in the SEC.
Even though Alabama played Eastern Illinois (winning 56-0 with 8 rushing touchdowns) and Georgia played Charlotte (winning 35-3), ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) saw enough to bump the Tide ahead of the Bulldogs and back into the top 5.
Georgia fell 2 spots, actually, despite the win. The top 5 now consists of Ohio State, Indiana, Notre Dame, Oregon and Alabama, in that order.
Georgia checks in at No. 6 this week, with Texas A&M also cracking the top 10 at No. 9.

We’re holding steady at 11 SEC teams in the top 25. The 5 squads not to make the cut this week were: South Carolina (No. 27), Arkansas (No. 36), Kentucky (No. 38), Florida (No. 41) and Mississippi State (No. 48).
