ESPN FPI Rankings after Week 7: Alabama leapfrogged despite road win at Mizzou

ESPN FPI rankings have been updated following an incredible Week 7 in college football.

This weekend saw Penn State lose (again). It saw Indiana go into Oregon and beat the Ducks. It saw the Alabama Crimson Tide win a thriller in Columbia against the Mizzou Tigers.

We also saw big-time bouts between Georgia and Auburn, Ohio State and Illinois, LSU and South Carolina, and more.

The Buckeyes retain the top spot in ESPN’s Football Power Index, with Indiana sliding into the No. 2 spot. Alabama checks in at No. 3 to lead an impressive 11 SEC squads in the top 25. Here’s a look at the new FPI top 25 as we prepare for Week 8:

The 5 SEC teams that didn’t crack the FPI top 25 were: Florida (No. 27), South Carolina (No. 30), Arkansas (No. 36), Mississippi State (No. 47) and Kentucky (No. 50).
