With Week 4 in the books, ESPN Analytics has updated its rankings models. The Football Power Index (FPI) has processed Saturday’s outcomes and updated its top 25 teams.
There is no movement at the top. Ohio State and Oklahoma remain the top 2 teams, each improving to 4-0. The No. 3 spot goes to an SEC team, but not the same as last week.
Alabama has moved up from No. 4 to No. 3 after the Crimson Tide’s 24-10 home win over a ranked Ole Miss team, improving UA to 3-1. Georgia moved down from No. 3 to No. 5 following Week 4. The Bulldogs advanced to 4-0 with a 49-21 win over UAB.
Ole Miss stayed at No. 13 in the updated FPI rankings. LSU’s close win over Arkansas hurt the Tigers’ standing. Brian Kelly’s team moved down 5 spots to No. 14. Texas A&M, meanwhile, moved up 2 spots after a 27-10 win over Auburn. Tennessee climbed 6 spots to No. 18 following its 45-14 thumping of UTSA.
