We haven’t heard much in terms of official updates on the status of injured Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa, but there was some news Sunday.
According to ESPN’s Laura Rutledge, Tagovailoa is set to undergo an MRI and is expected to be out for two weeks. Obviously now is the right time for a player to have to be sidelined two weeks since Alabama won’t play again until the College Football Playoff semifinal on Dec. 29.
Bowl prep will presumably begin in the middle of the month. Rutledge, on site in Tuscaloosa, relayed the news Sunday on the “College Football Playoff Selection Show.”
“Tua actually sprained his ankle in the first half, actually came back and played,” coach Nick Saban said in postgame Saturday. “The other injury, he got stepped on, his foot, which I don’t think is significant. So we’re going to evaluate his ankle tomorrow, but I don’t it’s going to be something that would keep him out. Maybe for a little while, but we probably won’t practice for a couple weeks anyway. But we’ll know more about that tomorrow.”
