ESPN updated its rankings of the top transfer portal commitments from the open window thus far, and while an SEC player wasn’t featured in the top spot, he did slide in at No. 2.

Auburn transfer Cam Coleman recently committed to join Arch Manning in Austin, and ESPN’s Steve Muench believes that the 6-foot-3 junior has what it takes to be a top-tier target in the SEC.

This ranking is off unparalleled upside. Coleman is one of the most talented receivers in the country with one of the best highlight reels, and he averaged 14 yards per catch over his two seasons at Auburn. He drops some passes and he can be more consistent in this area, but he’s a big target with acrobatic body control and the ability to come down with contested circus catches. He has the second gear to run by corners, and he tracks the deep ball well. He can make defenders miss and his speed makes him a threat after the catch.

Despite having to work with multiple quarterbacks and an inconsistent coaching staff, Coleman shined over the past two years as a Tiger. The former 5-star recruit, as rated by 247Sports, has tallied 93 catches for 1,306 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns up to this point in his career.

Coleman will join a Texas team that appears to be pushing all its chips to the center of the table in 2026. With Manning returning and a high-profile transfer portal class arriving around him, the Longhorn faithful believe that this can be the year the program breaks through with another national title.

The ability of Coleman to find his groove within Steve Sarkisian‘s offense (rarely a hard task) will go a long way in determining if UT can reach that peak.
