Week 9 didn’t have many SEC games on the schedule, but there were plenty of big-time games around the rest of the country.
That led to some drama, as some top teams suffered losses, shaking up the ESPN Football Power Index (FPI) top 25.
As you can see below, Georgia and Alabama still hold the top 2 spots, with a total of 6 SEC teams in the top 25.
It is weird to see Michigan at No. 5, Pitt at No. 6, Florida at No. 8 and Iowa State at No. 9 considering all 4 of those schools lost on Saturday. The FPI rankings don’t always make a ton of sense, though.
Here’s a look at the current top 25:
- Georgia
- Alabama
- Ohio State
- Oklahoma
- Michigan
- Pitt
- Cincinnati
- Florida
- Iowa State
- Clemson
- Texas
- Auburn
- Texas A&M
- Notre Dame
- Michigan State
- Ole Miss
- Penn State
- NC State
- Oklahoma State
- Oregon
- Baylor
- Wisconsin
- Miami
- Utah
- Iowa
