ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) has updated its odds after another wild week of college football in Week 4.

Every SEC team except Georgia and Alabama played in Week 4. There were several conference matchups, including Tennessee at Oklahoma and Arkansas at Auburn.

Now, the FPI has updated the odds for each team to win the SEC Championship.

Unsurprisingly, the No. 1 Texas Longhorns have the best odds at 39.2%. No. 4 Alabama has the 2nd-best odds at 19.8%, while the No. 6 Ole Miss Rebels have the 3rd-best odds at 17.1%.

You may notice that Georgia was not included in the 3 teams with the best chance to win the SEC Championship. Well, the Bulldogs don’t have the 4th-best odds either, as that honor goes to the Tennessee Volunteers who have a 13.5% chance to win it.

The Bulldogs have the 5th-best odds at just 7.1%. Of course, this could all change if the Bulldogs beat the Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa in Week 5.

Check out each team’s chances to win the SEC Championship according to FPI:

  • Texas — 39.2%
  • Alabama — 19.8%
  • Ole Miss — 17.1%
  • Tennessee — 13.5%
  • Georgia — 7.1%
  • Missouri — 2.0%
  • Texas A&M — 0.6%
  • LSU — 0.5%
  • Arkansas — 0.2%

Every other SEC team has a 0% chance to win the conference in 2024.

It’s interesting to note that Tennessee fell 1 spot in the FPI rankings even after beating a quality SEC opponent in Oklahoma on the road. Meanwhile, Georgia leapfrogged Tennessee while being on a bye week. Texas, Alabama, and Ole Miss stayed unmoved on the FPI.

Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and Ole Miss all have at least a 71.0% chance of making the College Football Playoff. It will be interesting to see how these odds change after another busy slate in Week 5.
