The Heisman Trophy race will certainly get more interesting once we hit November.

The Heisman usually goes to the best player on one of the best teams every year, and it’s usually a quarterback. So, it’s no surprise that three quarterbacks top ESPN’s Heisman Trophy watch through four weeks.

Ten different ESPN analysts voted on the watch, and Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts leads the pack. However, closely following Hurts is Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa and LSU’s Joe Burrow.

Through three games, Hurts has totaled 13 touchdowns, nine passing and three rushing. He’s been magnificent, but Oklahoma hasn’t really played a defense with a pulse yet.

Tagovailoa’s and Burrow’s stats have been eerily similar to one another. Both quarterbacks have thrown for 17 touchdowns. Burrow has only thrown just 24 incompletions compared to Tagovailoa’s 25. Burrow has thrown for 220 more yards on 12 more attempts.

While most of the country expected Tagovailoa’s incredible numbers, Burrow is the one who everyone is buzzing about. Thanks to the Joe Brady hire at LSU, Burrow has thrown the ball all over the field for the Tigers and shows no signs of slowing down.

Everyone has November 9 circled on their calendar for LSU at Alabama. Oddly enough, that game could be a shootout.
