The SEC won’t kick off its 2020 season until Sept. 26, but the conference is still getting a lot of respect in rankings and polls.
On Sunday, after the ACC and Big 12 had some teams start their seasons on Saturday, ESPN’s Chris Low updated his power rankings.
As you can see below, he has 6 SEC teams in the top 10 and 8 total SEC squads in the top 25:
- No. 1 — Alabama
- No. 4 — Georgia
- No. 5 — Florida
- No. 8 — LSU
- No. 9 — Texas A&M
- No. 10 — Auburn
- No. 14 — Tennessee
- No. 17 — Kentucky
How will these rankings change in a couple of weeks when SEC play begins? Well, Auburn and Kentucky will square off in the first game of the year, so that’ll be a game to watch.
