ESPN’s SP+ has revealed which way it is leaning in a Week 11 SEC showdown in Starkville between 2 programs with a lot to gain.
First, there’s No. 5 Georgia, which is 7-1 overall and 5-1 in the SEC, with the Bulldogs having all of their 2025 goals intact as they head on the road for Saturday’s noon ET kickoff on ESPN. Then there’s 5-4 Mississippi State, which is unranked and only 1-4 in the SEC but has the opportunity to boost its bowl eligibility hopes, not to mention sending a loud statement across the country with a massive home upset on national TV.
Georgia is favored, not surprisingly, but the Bulldogs will try to prevail in a sneaky road trap against another Bulldogs team that just won their first SEC game last Saturday at Arkansas. So, with Mississippi State brimming with confidence coming off that elusive first conference win, it’ll be up to Georgia to keep its SEC and national title hopes intact in a hostile environment. Georgia has won 4 in a row since suffering its only loss of the season at home against Alabama.
ESPN’s SP+ is available for all of the Week 11 matchups, and the model is projecting favored Georgia to escape Starkville with a 32-25 victory.
Here’s the Georgia-Mississippi State prediction along with the rest of the Week 11 slate:
Georgia has owned the all-time series with Mississippi State, leading 21-6 in their 27 all-time matchups. Also not surprisingly in the battle of Bulldogs, Georgia has won the past 5 meetings, including last year’s 41-31 victory in Athens.
This time around, the environment won’t be nearly as friendly for Georgia as it heads to Starkville with everything on the line.
