ESPN’s SP+ has revealed its prediction for the final score of LSU‘s home primetime showdown with SEC rival Florida on Saturday at Tiger Stadium.
It’ll be a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff on ABC for the 3rd-ranked Tigers and now unranked Gators, who were stunned at home by South Florida in Week 2 and fell out of the AP Top 25.
ESPN’s SP+ released its score predictions for all of the Week 3 matchups last Sunday night, and that model is projecting that Brian Kelly‘s LSU team will outlast Billy Napier‘s squad in a tense 28-25 victory at Death Valley.
Here’s that prediction along with the rest of the Week 3 slate:
LSU will be trying to stay perfect and get to 3-0 in front of what’s sure to be a rocking Tiger Stadium in primetime. The Tigers earned a huge victory in Week 1 by winning at Clemson before cruising to a victory over Louisiana Tech in their Week 2 home opener.
Meanwhile, it’s been a roller-coaster already for Napier’s Florida team, which routed Long Island University in Week 1 before falling to USF in a gut-wrenching Week 2 home loss that has already sparked calls — again — for Napier’s job.
Florida leads the all-time series with LSU, 34-31-3, and the Gators earned a 27-16 victory over the Tigers last November in Gainesville, so the Tigers will be out for revenge on Saturday night.
