The 2025 SEC Championship Game has a familiar feel to that of years’ past, as for the third time since 2018, Alabama and Georgia will meet for the conference title.
And on top of that, this is the ninth matchup between these two sides since 2018, with the Crimson Tide claiming a 7-1 record in the recent series entering Saturday’s clash.
Ahead of this weekend’s slate of title games, ESPN’s Bill Connelly released his SP+ predictions for the weekend.
The metric projects that Kirby Smart & Co. will finally score another win over Alabama, as SP+ sees the Bulldogs exacting revenge for the last time these sides met in Atlanta, which saw the Tide claim a 27-24 victory. This time around, the analytical projection foresees Georgia taking home a win by the same scoreline.
SP+’s prediction also follows a recent trend in this budding rivalry, as the past three meetings were all single-score results. Each of those games went in the favor of Alabama, however.
The Bulldogs and Crimson Tide will kick off at 3:30 ET from Atlanta, with the game being broadcast by ABC.
