ESPN’s SP+ has released its prediction for an SEC game that carries a lot of meaning on the 2nd Saturday of November.
It’ll be No. 3 Texas A&M carrying an undefeated record into Columbia to face No. 19 Mizzou, which is looking to bounce back from that stinging loss in Week 9 at Vanderbilt. Both teams are coming off a bye, so they should both be fresh come Saturday afternoon when they kick it off at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
The Aggies are 8-0 overall and a perfect 5-0 in the SEC, so they have everything to lose as they go on the road and try to hand Mizzou its 3rd loss of the season. The 6-2 Tigers are desperately hanging on to any College Football Playoff hopes at this point, and so the Week 11 battle becomes a survival test for Mizzou. Meanwhile, Texas A&M will be playing its 3rd straight SEC road game after winning at Arkansas and at LSU before that bye in Week 10.
ESPN’s SP+ is available for all of the Week 11 matchups, and the model is projecting the favored Aggies to barely escape Columbia with a 28-27 victory.
Here’s the Texas A&M-Mizzou prediction along with the rest of the Week 11 slate:
The programs have met 17 times previously in their football histories, and Texas A&M holds a slim 10-7 lead in the all-time series. The Aggies have also won the past 2 meetings with the Tigers, including last year’s 41-10 pounding of Mizzou in College Station.
This time around, it won’t be nearly as friendly for Texas A&M as it tries to keep its dream season alive and stay undefeated.
