Week 6 of SEC action is on deck this weekend, and the No. 6 Texas A&M Aggies will be looking to continue their winning ways against the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
The former SEC West division rivals will be meeting under the lights at Kyle Field for an under-the-radar matchup that has the potential to shake up the SEC pecking order in a major way should the Bulldogs pull off the upset.
ESPN analyst Bill Connelly released his SP+ projection for the potentially massive matchup between the Aggies and the Bulldogs, and his model is predicting a tight affair.
The SP+ is a predictive model that takes a number of different stats and historical trends and uses them to both curate power rankings for ESPN, and to predict the outcome of any given game from week to week.
When it comes to Texas A&M and Mississippi State, Connelly’s model is projecting the Aggies to come out on top at home with the final score being 30-25.
This is much closer than the oddsmakers in Vegas are expecting, with the current betting line sitting at -14.5 in favor of A&M.
Given how tightly the Bulldogs played Tennessee this past weekend, though, it seems like another close game is the most likely outcome here as well.
