Probably the most highly anticipated rematch of the entire 2025 college football season is finally here, as the No. 16 Vanderbilt Commodores are set to travel down to Tuscaloosa to face off against the No. 10 Alabama Crimson Tide.

Vandy shocked the entire world last year when the Commodores knocked off the then-No. 1 Tide at home in what has since become star QB Diego Pavia’s grand entrance to the sport, and now they’ll be looking to do so once more on the road in 2025.

ESPN analyst Bill Connelly has just released his SP+ projection for the huge Week 6 matchup, and the model, unsurprisingly, predicts a tightly contested affair between the two top-25 foes.

The SP+ takes various statistics and historical trends into account to craft power rankings for ESPN and project the outcome of any given game from week to week.

When it comes to Vandy and Alabama, Connelly’s model is projecting the Tide to come out on top at home by a final score of 29-27, which is actually a lot closer than the current -11.5 spread that Vegas has Bama favored at.

All of college football will have its eyes on this one, so it will be interesting to see how things end up shaking out and whether or not the SP+ ends up being correct with this projection.
