Evan Stewart, former 5-star recruit, reportedly decides on Texas A&M future

Evan Stewart was one of the most sought-after recruits in the Class of 2022. He’ll now be one of the most coveted players in the transfer portal. Multiple outlets are reporting that Stewart has entered his name into the portal after 2 seasons at Texas A&M.
Stewart made a splash in 2022, his debut season. Over 10 games, including 8 starts, he recorded 53 catches for 649 yards and 2 touchdowns. He cracked triple digits against Alabama (8 catches, 106 yards) and Florida (8 catches, 120 yards) in 2022. Stewart was named to the SEC’s All-Freshman Team and earned Freshman All-American recognition from the FWAA, ESPN and The Athletic.
This past season, Stewart played in 8 games. He was second on the team in catches with 38 for 514 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns. He became Texas A&M’s first receiver to break the 100-yard mark in back-to-back outings since 2019, logging 115 yards against New Mexico and a career-high 142 yards against Miami.
Coming out of Liberty in Frisco, Texas, Stewart was rated 5-stars, the No. 2 wide receiver and No. 11 player overall for 2022 on the 247Sports Composite. He picked up 37 scholarship offers, taking official visits to Texas A&M, Florida and Texas.
