Another year, another first-round Alabama linebacker. Rashaan Evans was the latest member to join that club.

Evans was picked No. 22 overall by the Tennessee Titans.

Evans came into the NFL draft with a bit of controversy. After he didn’t participate in the Senior Bowl, Evans didn’t test in the 40-yard dash at either the NFL Scouting Combine or at Alabama’s pro day, which apparently didn’t sit well with some NFL front offices.

But that’s water under the bridge with Evans off the board.

He’ll try and produce like he did at Alabama, where he earned first-team All-SEC and first-team All-America honors after leading Alabama in tackles for loss as a senior.

Evans finished his career with 137 tackles, 21.5 tackles for loss, 14 sacks and 2 forced fumbles. He led a unit that finished first in the country in total defense and scoring defense en route to its second national title in 3 years.

The former Tide star became the 10th linebacker drafted in the Nick Saban era. He was the third Alabama player picked in the first round.
