South Carolina fans are reeling as the Gamecocks lost to Missouri, 29-20, for their second consecutive loss.
Last week, the Gamecocks were blown out by Vanderbilt at home, and now have seen their SEC and College Football Playoff chances all but eliminated. This was supposed to be a big year for South Carolina, but its offense has really struggled this entire year.
Offensive coordinator Mike Shula was promoted to the position last December, and things haven’t went well thus far for him. The Gamecocks were up at the half, but only managed to score 6 points after the break.
South Carolina fans voiced their displeasure with Shula and this offense on social media during and after the game:
Sellers did throw for 302 yards and two touchdowns, but he was the entire offense as the rushing game was non-existent. The Gamecocks rushed the ball 22 times and ended up with -9 yards. Sellers had 10 carries for -28 yards, but there was no balance to the offensive attack.
The Gamecocks will be back in action next weekend against Kentucky, but then the team starts a brutal stretch of 5 consecutive games against teams currently ranked in the top 14.
