Finebaum mocks Harbaugh’s accomplishments, Michigan fans rush to coach’s defense
Thanks to landing a $4 million dollar signing bonus, Alabama head coach Nick Saban will be the highest paid coach in college football next season. Next in line is Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh, who has a healthy $9 million dollar salary for next season.
No stranger to poking fun at the expense of Harbaugh, the twitter account for SEC Network host Paul Finebaum tweeted out an interesting graphic comparing the FBS accomplishments of college football’s two highest paid head coaches heading into the 2017 season. In fairness, the graphic does not include any NFL coaching stats, where Harbaugh had a distinguished career, taking San Francisco within a successful fourth-and-goal conversation away from winning a Super Bowl title. Meanwhile, Saban’s short stint in the NFL was not nearly as successful.
Here’s the graphic tweeted out by Finebaum’s account:

It didn’t take long for some Michigan fans to respond, pointing to Harbaugh’s success in the NFL.Â

@finebaum Why don’t you compare their FBS resumes for Saban’s first 6 years to Harbaughs first 6 years???

Although, not all the responses to the tweet favored Harbaugh.

@finebaum Saban won a Nat’l Championship in his 3rd yr at Bama, after taking over the broken program. This will be Harbaugh’s 3rd yr at M. Will he?

@ThePrez_Dugan @finebaum So as long as you MAKE it to a super bowl as a coach, your resume is complete? You never again have to beat your rival? #notinmyworld
