First of the year: College football head coach tweets he was fired

The first football coach of the year has been fired, and this one is a doozy.
Saint Augustine University (a Division II school in North Carolina) coach Tim Chavous tweeted Monday afternoon that he had been fired in an all-caps rant.
As you can see below, he was none too happy with the school’s decision, directing his ire at AD George Williams. Chavous deleted his original tweet, but a screen shot can be found below:
Chavous’s team was 0-3 this year and had been outscored 148-21, so we’re not sure he was an “escape goat” actually.
Still, it’ll be interesting to see how this situation plays out moving forward.
Of course every year in the SEC and around college football, the hot seat is a constant topic of conversation. While the coaching carousel has been somewhat muted last season in the SEC, several hot seats have been heating up and some coaching changes might be likely during the 2019 season.
