If you missed the news, Tuesday was the biggest win of the year thus far for Georgia in recruiting, as five-star running back Zamir White announced his commitment to the Bulldogs. White committed to UGA over Alabama, Clemson, North Carolina, and Ohio State.

The 6-foot-1, 220-pound North Carolina native ranks as a five-star prospect, the No. 1 running back and the No. 6 overall recruit in the nation according to 247Sports Composite Rankings and has been selected as a participant in the 2018 U.S. Army All-American Game.

While his game has been compared to former Georgia standout running back Todd Gurley, White’s pledge to join the Bulldog program is a moment not even the current Rams star back could top during his recruitment.

According to ESPN Stats & Info, White’s commitment has given Georgia a tie for the most ever Top-10 running backs in the history of ESPN’s recruiting rankings.

Another impressive recruiting stat White represents, he is the highest rated running back to commit to Georgia in the Rivals era, according to Jake Reuse of UGASports.com.

If it wasn’t bad enough for North Carolina that White chose to commit to the Bulldogs over the Tar Heels, his commitment marks the 11th consecutive season in which the player rated highest by ESPN has left the state. Needless to say, it’s hard to build an elite program when you can’t keep the state’s best players from leaving each and every year.
