Florida and Georgia will battle for a spot in the Women’s College World Series. The Gators and Bulldogs each won their NCAA Regionals on Sunday, advancing to the Super Regional.
As the No. 4 national seed, Florida will host the Super Regional in Gainesville. UF went 3-0 in the Regional against USF and South Alabama. The Gators took down USF for the second time on Sunday, winning 8-0 behind a no-hitter from Elizabeth Hightower. The Florida offense exploded for six runs in the seventh inning, including a grand slam from Sarah Longley.

While Georgia hosted the Athens Regional, No. 13 Duke was the nationally seeded team in the Regional. UGA, however, went 3-0, downing Duke twice in one-run decisions. Saturday’s Georgia win was 1-0 but it was a wild one on Sunday with multiple lead changes and UGA coming out on top 10-9.

Florida and Georgia met in April. UGA won the series opener in Athens 4-2, a game nationally televised on ESPN. UF came back to take the series with 17-1 and 8-1 victories. The Gators will be looking to get revenge for the 2016 Super Regionals when the 16-seed Bulldogs knocked off the top-seed with a walk-off homer in Gainesville.
