Back in December, it was reported that Louisville LB Jon Greenard would be transferring away from the Cardinals’ program. He was linked to Florida at the time, but nothing was official.
Now, it appears Greenard will indeed follow through with his plan to rejoin former Louisville DC Todd Grantham, who now serves in the same position on Dan Mullen’s Florida staff.
As you can see in the tweet below, Greenard announced his decision on Wednesday evening:
I want to thank God for giving me the opportunity to still be able to play this game. I want to thank the other universities for considering me as well. With that being said, I will be continuing my collegiate career as a Graduate Student at the University of Florida ? ? ??

Greenard missed all but a few snaps of the 2018 season with a wrist injury, but in 2017, he had 48 tackles (15.5 for a loss) and seven sacks.
Now, he’ll join a Florida defense that needs to replace pass rusher Jachai Polite. As a grad transfer, Greenard will be eligible to play right away, so he could be that guy.
