Is Florida starting a trend with innovative NYC Jalen Tabor media sessions?
Well this is a new one, even for someone as media friendly as Florida’s junior defensive back Jalen Tabor. The Gators star defensive back is scheduled to be in New York this week for media interviews while his head coach Jim McElwain visits ESPN for the SEC’s annual carwash event.
The school’s official website announced the news Monday evening, stating that Tabor will visit the set of “Good Morning America,” NFL headquarters, as well as Sports Illustrated and Sirius XM Radio in New York.
“I’m very excited and blessed for this opportunity,” Tabor said. “It’s an honor to represent the Gators and let my voice be heard.”
Florida is even promoting the event via social media using the hashtag: #TaborTakesNYC.
If the event is a hit, don’t be surprised to see this become a trend not only in the SEC but possibly around the nation as this trip will likely advance not only the school’s presence but that of the Tabor as he enters likely his final college season in Gainesville. With the possible connections and relationships Tabor establishes on this trip, he has a good head start on a future in media if he so desires after his playing career with the Gators.
