Florida State has landed a commitment from Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage wideout Brandon Bennett.

Bennett, a 6-foot, 170-pound pass catcher out of the 2026 class, chose the Seminoles over Florida and Georgia. The track star also held offers from 9 other SEC programs — Alabama among them — and 4 other ACC schools. Bennett recently took his official visit to Florida State and it would appear he saw all he needed to lock things down.

Bennett is a 4-star recruit in the industry-generated 247 Composite. He is currently ranked as the No. 33 receiver in the class and the No. 34 prospect from the state of Florida. In the national player rankings, he sits at No. 218 overall.

In each of his first 3 high school seasons, Bennett was part of a 4×100 relay team that took gold at Florida’s 3A meet. He is a 3-time state qualifier in the 100m dash and a 2-time state qualifier in the 200m.

As a sophomore on the gridiron, Bennett averaged 22.8 yards per catch with 5 touchdown receptions. As a junior, he brought in 7 touchdowns while averaging 21.2 yards per reception. He also took a kickoff to the house in the state title game to help American Heritage secure the Florida 4A championship.

Bennett should benefit from a Division I strength and nutrition program, but his true selling point is his speed. He’s one of the fastest high schoolers in the state of Florida and could be a field-flipping deep ball specialist at the power conference level.

With his commitment, Florida State is up to 11 public pledges for its 2026 class. Bennett is the sixth blue-chipper to commit to coach Mike Norvell. You can see his highlight tape below, via Hudl:
