Florida State flips 4-star TE from in-state rival on first day of Early Signing Period
Florida State made a big splash on the recruiting trail on Wednesday evening, the first day of the Early Signing Period for the class of 2025.
The Noles flipped a Florida commit in 4-star tight end Tae’shaun Gelsey. He had been committed to the Gators since June, but picked up an offer from Florida State back in October.

Gelsey is a huge pickup for Florida State on signing day. He’s the No. 332 overall player in the country for the 2025 recruiting cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also ranked as the No. 17 tight end and the No. 48 player from the state of Florida.
Although the Jacksonville native is listed as a tight end, it’s possible he could play wide receiver at the next level. He’s listed 6-foot-4, 215 pounds.
It’s been a difficult recruiting cycle for Florida State as the Noles had to fire both coordinators mid-season after a putrid start to the 2024 campaign. However, FSU currently has the No. 25 recruiting class in the country for 2025, per 247Sports Composite rankings. It’s possible the Noles will be able to add even more talent before the end of the week.
