Florida State has reportedly added a commitment from ex-Tennessee defensive lineman Jayson Jenkins.
That’s according to 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz, who first shared the news on Sunday morning. The report cites confirmation from Jenkins’s agency.
Jenkins is a significant addition for the Noles. He recorded 4 tackles for loss and 2 sacks this season while playing on a Tennessee defensive front that was amongst the most disruptive in all of college football.
According to Pro Football Focus, Jenkins played 214 snaps this season and received an overall grade of 75.5 for his efforts. He’ll likely have a path to an even larger role in FSU’s defense next season.
Florida State has had success in the transfer portal with defensive linemen specifically. Jared Verse and Braden Fiske, now both playing in the NFL are 2 recent success stories for the Noles. After a down year in 2024, FSU will be looking to get back to that level of defensive line play in 2025 and beyond.
Jenkins gives Florida State a total of 14 transfer portal commits so far this offseason. It’s unclear how many players the Noles will add via the portal this offseason as they also signed 20 players from the 2025 high school class. FSU’s transfer class ranks No. 6 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
Jenkins has 2 years of eligibility remaining.
