Florida State earned a big victory for its 2026 recruiting class on Monday, getting a commitment from 4-star running back Amari Clemons.
Clemons, who is from Marianna, Florida, about an hour away from Tallahassee, took visits to FSU the past few weekends and has now chosen to play for Mike Norvell’s team. He took to social media on Monday to announce his pledge, tweeting a graphic of himself standing next to Norvell in front of Doak Campbell Stadium.
According to 247Sports, Clemons chose to stay local and play for Florida State over offers from Florida, Auburn, Miami, Ole Miss, and several other Power 4 programs.
The 247Sports Composite Rankings put Clemons as the nation’s No. 294 overall player and No. 24 running back in the 2026 recruiting class. He’s also the 47th-ranked player from the state of Florida.
Clemons had a stellar 2024 high school season, running for 1,880 yards on only 153 carries with a whopping 34 touchdowns. Clemons added 14 receptions for 247 yards and 3 touchdowns out of the backfield.
Florida State’s 2026 class now consists of 6 known commitments. Clemons is joining 4-star wideout Efrem White, 4-star athlete Darryon Williams, 3-star defensive backs Daryll Bell III and Tedarius Hughes, and 3-star offensive lineman Xavier Payne.
