Florida State and Boston College wrap up college football’s Week 1 with a special Labor Day night game, concluding the holiday weekend full of football.

For the home-opener, FSU is going with a gold-garnet-garnet combo. The Seminoles will wear their traditional gold helmets with garnet jerseys and garnet pants. The program revealed the threads on social media.

For the Week 0 game, Mike Norvell’s team sported its classic look of gold helmets, garnet jerseys and gold pants. No. 10 Florida State dropped its season-opener 24-21 in heartbreaking fashion on a last-second field goal.

FSU is seeking to avoid its first 0-2 start since the 2021 season, Norvell’s second year in Tallahassee. The 2020 Seminoles starterd 0-4 with losses to Notre Dame, Jacksonville State, Wake Forest and Louisville before notching a 3-game winning streak against Syracuse, North Carolina and UMass. Norvell’s Noles are coming off back-to-back seasons with double-digit wins, leading to high expectations for the 2024 campaign.

Boston College and Florida State have played 20 times, including annually since 2005. FSU owns a 15-5 advantage in the series, including a 5-game winning streak. The Seminoles won a close call in Chestnut Hill last year 31-29. The last meeting in Tallahassee was a lopsided 44-14 victory for the Noles.

Monday’s ACC clash is set for a 7:30 p.m. ET from Doak Campbell Stadium, airing on ESPN.
