Just hours after we learned that two Florida players were cited for walking out of a bowling alley without paying for their food, the team endured another player getting arrested for a needless reason.
Receiver Alvin Bailey was arrested in Tampa on Saturday due to a missed court date, the Tampa Bay Times reported.
Bailey mostly played on special teams his first two years in Gainesville, Fla., but was expected to compete for time as a reserve receiver in 2015.
The 5-foot-11, 185-pound receiver received a citation May 12 — his second citation for driving with a suspended license. According to the Times, Bailey then missed his scheduled arraignment in court, leading to a warrant for his arrest issued June 9.
The paper reported that Bailey was being held on a $5,000 bond.
Earlier in the day, it surfaced that defensive tackle Caleb Brantley and running back Adam Lane received second-degree misdemeanor charges after walking out of Splitz Bowling Alley on July 4 without settling what amounted to a food bill of about $60.
J.C. Jackson and Chris Thompson also were arrested in April.
In the cases of Bailey, Brantley and Lane, it sounds like the legal issues — and potential discipline — could’ve been avoided with some common sense and self-responsibility.
