Former Alabama DB Eli Ricks is trying to beat the odds and make the 53-man roster as an undrafted free agent. On Saturday, Ricks made a strong case for a roster spot.

In his first NFL game, Ricks snagged a pick-6. Ricks intercepted Baltimore Ravens QB Anthony Brown with just over 7 minutes left in the 4th quarter, going 31 yards for a Philadelphia Eagles touchdown. The Eagles were unsuccessful on a 2-point try, and fell to the Ravens on Saturday.

Ricks began his college career at LSU, playing in 14 games for the Tigers over the 2020 and ’21 seasons. He was a Freshman All-American and Freshman All-SEC selection in 2020. Ricks transferred to Alabama for the final season of his college career.

At Alabama, Ricks dealt with injuries early in the 2022 season. He played in 10 games, making 5 starts as a junior. Ricks posted 13 tackles and 4 pass breakups in his season with the Crimson Tide.

Ricks elected to enter the 2023 NFL Draft after his junior season. After going undrafted, he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. With 2 passes defended, including a pick-6, Ricks had an impressive preseason debut.
