Carter, 25, has had to work hard for his professional opportunities. He was not picked in the 2020 NFL Draft.
As an undrafted free agent, Carter initially signed with the New York Jets. He was let go during roster cuts in August 2020.
Carter’s next stop was with the Atlanta Falcons. He signed to the practice squad on Oct. 20, 2020 and was waived on Dec. 8.
After his 2020 struggles, Carter returned to Alabama in the spring of 2021 to work as a graduate assistant. He returned to the NFL when the Houston Texans signed him in May.
The Texans waived Carter as part of final roster cuts, but re-signed him to the team’s practice squad. He was let go again on Oct. 12, 2021.
The Titans first signed Carter to the practice squad on Dec. 30, 2021. He has been waived and re-signed by the club numerous times.
This season, the Titans elevated Carter to the active roster for the first time. He made his NFL debut in Week 4, recording a tackle in the team’s win over Cincinnati.
Tennessee plays Baltimore in London on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 9:30 a.m. ET.
