Former Alabama K Will Reichard is set to miss some time.

The Minnesota Vikings announced Tuesday that Reichard has been placed on injured reserve. The roster move sidelines Reichard for at least 4 games.

Reichard entered Minnesota’s Week 9 a perfect 14-of-14 on field goals. He missed his first 2 kicks of the year, falling to 14-of-16 (87.5%). He did manage to go 3-of-3 on extra points in the 21-13 win over the Indianapolis Colts, improving to 23-of-23.

According to Andrew Krammer of The Minnesota Star Tribune, Reichard had been dealing with soreness but did not tell the team prior to this past Sunday’s game. Reichard further strained his quad in Sunday’s game as he experienced kicking issues.

Reichard had a standout career at Alabama from 2019-2023. In his final season, he was a first-team All-SEC selection and the conference’s Special Teams Player of the Year. Minnesota used the No. 203 pick in the 6th round of the 2024 NFL Draft to take Reichard.

When Reichard was healthy, he was a highly effective kicker. Plenty of fans of the Vikings and the Crimson Tide will hope to see Reichard return in December.
