Former Alabama star offensive lineman Cam Robinson went from an NFL team going nowhere in 2024 to 1 with serious playoff hopes within minutes after being traded by the Jacksonville Jaguars to the Minnesota Vikings on Wednesday.
The 5-2 Vikings bolstered their offensive line with the trade deadline next Tuesday, acquiring the offensive tackle and a 7th-round draft pick in 2026 from the Jaguars in exchange for a 5th-round pick in 2026.

The 29-year-old Robinson is in the final year of a contract that pays him $16.25 million this season. His contract situation makes Robinson a likely short-term addition for the remainder of the season for the Vikings, who got off to a 5-0 start but have lost their past 2 games.
Robinson had spent his entire career with Jacksonville after being selected early in the 2nd round of the 2017 draft by the Jaguars. The 6-foot-6, 235-pound Robinson had a stellar career at Alabama, where he played from 2014-16. He was a 2-time first-team All-SEC selection in 2015 and ’16, and he helped lead the Crimson Tide to a national championship in 2015.
In 2016, Robinson took his play to a whole new level, being named a unanimous All-American, while winning the Outland Trophy and the Jacobs Blocking Trophy.
