Former Alabama OL Jonah Williams, now with Bengals, reveals he played against Ravens with dislocated kneecap

Former Alabama offensive lineman Jonah Williams was a All-SEC first team selection with the Crimson Tide in 2017 and 2018 and a former All-American in 2018. That led to him being taken in the 1st round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals, and he’s now tasked with being part of an offensive line whose job is to protect franchise quarterback Joe Burrow.
That apparently means pushing through a dislocated kneecap, as he did during Week 5’s “Sunday Night Football” game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Williams made the revelation while meeting with reporters during the week. Not only did he dislocate it, but he continued playing after it popped back into place.
“It’s a matter of [taking] it day by day. I’m in treatment all the time, just trying to get it feeling good so I can go on Sunday (against the Saints). That’s all I can do right now.” he said.
Williams said that while the pain was “pretty rough”, he decided to play on, given that it was a road game against their AFC North foes.
“I felt like I had to be out there. That definitely helped, the adrenaline,” he said.
