Former Alabama commit Jamarrion Gordon, who had committed to UCF, is now on the move again after Gus Malzahn’s reported departure to be the offensive coordinator at Florida State.

The 4-star defensive back from the 2026 class has decommitted from UCF with Malzahn out as Knights head coach, according to a report from On3sports. The 6-foot, 195-pounder from Jackson, Ala., flipped from his home state team to UCF back in July, and now it appears Gordon has decided to go elsewhere because Malzahn has decided to go elsewhere.

Gordon reportedly has a whopping 26 offers right now. Suddenly, Florida State is in play for Gordon, with Malzahn reportedly heading to Tallahassee to be the Seminoles’ offensive coordinator. Florida is also in play for Gordon.

Interestingly, the Gators and Seminoles will play each other on Saturday night in Tallahassee, which apparently will be the new home for Malzahn in 2025 and might just be the future home of Gordon in 2026.

Gordon is the No. 295 overall player and No. 22 safety in the 247Sports composite ranking for the 2026 class. He is also the No. 11 player from the state of Alabama.

FSU’s 2026 recruiting class is one of the best in the country and already has 5 commitments. The Seminoles already have 2 defensive backs committed in 4-star safety Darryl Bell III and 3-star safety Tedarius Hughes.

With Malzahn headed to Florida State, the Seminoles could be in line for another big-time defensive back commit.
