Former Alabama RB Damien Harris injury: Bills coach provides update

Former Alabama RB Damien Harris left Sunday’s Buffalo Bills game via ambulance. So far, all signs are positive, considering the scary situation.
Harris was injured on his first carry of the game against the New York Giants. He was placed on a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance for transport to a local hospital with an apparent neck injury. Players and fans were glad to see Harris give a thumbs-up as he left the field.

Bills head coach Sean McDermott had more encouraging news in his postgame press conference.
“It’s my understanding he has full movement,” McDermott told reporters. “Fortunate that he is seemingly heading in a good direction, with the reports we are getting. So I am very thankful to God for that.”
A 2-time national champion and 2018 second-team All-SEC selection at Alabama, Harris is in his 5th professional season. He was selected No. 87 overall in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. Harris spent his first 4 seasons in New England.
In March 2023, Harris signed a 1-year, $1.7 million contract with Buffalo. He has played in 6 games for the Bills, recording 23 carries for 94 yards and 1 touchdown.
Hopefully, Harris recovers quickly and gets back on the field soon!
